health
Health is the condition of a person's body or mind. People talk about their health when they mean how well they feel, whether they are sick, or what they do to stay well.
What a model may hear
- endpoint check software operations and DevOps
- probe a URL like /health to see if a service is running and respond with pass, fail, or status codes
- system state distributed systems and cloud platforms
- report aggregate status of servers, databases, and dependencies as healthy, degraded, or unhealthy
- data integrity databases and storage systems
- run diagnostics to verify that data is not corrupted and replicas are in sync
- security posture cybersecurity frameworks
- score or grade an organization's defenses and compliance status
Where people and models part ways
“check my health”
Meant: give me general wellness advice
May be taken as: scan a server endpoint or return HTTP status codes
Say instead: “give me advice about personal wellness and staying healthy”
“my health is bad”
Meant: I feel sick or have symptoms
May be taken as: interpret as a failing service status and suggest rebooting or checking logs
Say instead: “I have symptoms and want medical information, not technical troubleshooting”
“health tips”
Meant: diet, exercise, or sleep advice
May be taken as: return monitoring best practices or alerting configuration guidance
Say instead: “tips for personal physical and mental wellbeing”
“health record”
Meant: my doctor's notes or medical history
May be taken as: fetch system logs, uptime metrics, or infrastructure audit trails
Say instead: “my personal medical records and history from healthcare providers”
Tips
- say 'personal health' or 'medical health' to block technical meanings
- name body parts or symptoms to steer toward medicine
- ask for 'health advice for a person' when you want wellness, not systems
- say 'server health' or 'service health' when you do want the technical check
- avoid 'health check' alone unless you want both kinds of answers
Often confused with

- a verb about recovery, not a state or endpoint
- healthy
- an adjective describing condition, less likely to trigger system probes
- wealth
- sounds similar but means money and resources
- help
- a request for assistance, not status or condition
- heartbeat
- a specific signal that a service is alive, narrower than health
- status
- more generic, less tied to medicine or wellness
